Nunley's Tips
Getting an AppointmentSometimes selling your product or service can be easier thangetting the actual appointment. No matter how hard you try, youjust can't seem to get the prospect to agree to meeting you faceto face. Here are a few tips that may help.At first, it is important to sell the appointment, not yourservice. Trying to get a contract over the phone is difficult. The appointment is when you will do the actual selling.Ask questions where the answer must be "yes." "Would it bebetter for us to meet on Monday or Tuesday?" The prospectprobably will pick one or the other and--bingo--you have theappointment. You might make your dates even more specific, "Ihave Monday at 10am and Tuesday at 2pm open. Which would workbest for you?"Asking for the prospect's help can be very effective. If theprospect says that he doesn't want to meet with you, ask her whatyou would have to say in order to convince her that your servicecan work. This way, the prospect will be telling you exactly howto overcome her objection.Above all, don't push! After a few failed attempts to get anappointment, it is better to take a fall-back position. Tell himyou understand he is not ready to make any decision. Ask for afollow-up appointment for a later time.See Kevin's 10,000 FREE marketing tips to help you make moneyfaster and easier at http://DrNunley.com He offers a full lineof proven promotion packages and copy writing deals. He knew he was far from the first to try to make moneyonline, so he wisely took time out to read everything he couldget his hands on by those who had come before him. Joe readCorey Rudl's course, bought Dan Kennedy's books, went through mysite, and picked up Robert Allen's Internet book (it's a goodone!).Once he read the best of the "gurus," Joe decided to start hisonline project by selling the same books, courses, and services.Come to think of it, this is a great way to start an Internetbusiness. The Internet is all about information, and infoproducts sell like gangbusters. But don't just put up a trillionreports by people you've never heard of. Read a few top infoproducts, use their advice yourself, then report on it to otherswhile selling those same info products.Nothing sells information products and services better than thehonest, heartfelt testimonial of someone who has used them.People may not belive the company ad copy, but they sure willjump when a fellow customer says "buy it... it's great!"Put up a web site with YOUR photo and comments on the openingpage. Write articles that openly share some of the guru'sideas. Put it in your own words and combine their ideas withyour own related experiences.Promote your business with Kevin's affordable ALL-OUT PROMOTIONPACKAGE. He writes your press release, your article, your ad, anddistributes them to media and ezines nationwide. One of the best free promotion strategies is to sendyour articles to publications looking for articles.Of course, we all know about ezines that use articles, but that'sjust the tip of the iceberg. Many other publications need asteady supply of articles, too. Most of these options are rightin front of you.Send your articles to your local newspaper. Many have sectionsfor reader-written articles. Others can easily convert yourarticle with good advice into a feature story. Magazines of allsizes look for articles from freelance writers. In many casesyou will need to contact the editor first and suggest yourarticle topic.Pennysavers and shoppers--those free or cheap newspapers thatcarry all ads such as Thrifty Nickle or The Recycler--are an easyway to get your articles in front of the public. Many of thesepapers like short articles to break up the endless array ofclassified ads.Trade publications read by those in your own profession can bevery effective. News about your profession is consideredimportant in these, whereas in a larger publication, it might bethought of as insignificant.Kevin writes your article, puts your name in the byline, your 4line ad at the end, then sends it to more than 2,000 ezines andwebsites looking for articles. It's a great way to promote! They do notneed to be large billboards in order to have a strong effect.Small signs such as store signs, banners, signs on trees, andposter-type signs, can all greatly impact your business. Theymake an unconscious impression on your potential customer. Signscatch the eye of those who are passing by and often result insales. There are a few important things to remember when making yoursign. Most successful signs use very few words, usually no morethan six. This will make it easier for your prospective customerto remember your advertisement. Make sure that you have a goodheadline. A few powerful words that you might want to include inyour headline could be "you", "now", "fast", or "proven".Using some type of graphic on a sign is almost as important asthe wording in the overall effect. Graphics could include thelettering, the colors, or the design of your sign.Make sure your graphic compliments or helps explain your text. For example, "Pies like Mother used to make" might have a graphicof a women holding a steaming pie down for a young boy or girl tosee. This helps get the meaning and FEELING of your messageacross to people who may be driving by your sign at high speed.See Kevin's affordable copy writing deals athttp://drnunley.com/copywriting.htm Sizzling, professionallywritten sales copy can make a BIG difference in your success.Reach Kevin at mailto:kevin@... or 801-328-9006.DrNunley's Biz-Tipsby Kevin NunleyOpt-in or Spam--What's the Difference?Opt-in email is when you get a message that you have asked toreceive. Spam is a commercial message you don't want and neverasked to receive.Simple enough? Not exactly. Every day I hear from people areconfused between opt-in and spam. And with good justification. The definitions vary from one person to the next and shift overtime.Back in 1996 when I started my online business, it was perfectlyacceptable to send email to the address of anyone who sent emailto you. If you emailed a question to me, I answered it AND putyour address on my newsletter list.Today that would get you in spamming trouble ASAP.Most of the "safe" lists you hear about are actually spam lists.Sure, using them will likely get your site removed, but you alsowon't get any response. These days people instantly know spamfrom other email and delete it in the blink of an eye. It's thenorm to send spam to one or two million addresses and get zeroresponse.Good bets for legitimate opt-in lists are yesmail.com,postmasterdirect.com, and bulletmail.com. An even better opt-instrategy, in my opinion, is to send your message to newsletterlists. Get an ad, sponsored ad (usually goes at the top of thenewsletter), or a solo mailing (your sales letter goes all byitself to the list of subscribers.) Pick a newsletter thatconsistently features good, helpful information. That's anewsletter whose readers pay close attention to what it says.See Kevin's affordable copy writing deals athttp://drnunley.com/copywriting.htm Sizzling, professionallywritten sales copy can make a BIG difference in your success.Reach Kevin at mailto:kevin@... or 801-328-9006.DrNunley's Biz-Tipsby Kevin NunleyGet On Talk Radio..and Promote For Free! There are thousands of talk radio stations spread through everycommunity all over North America.
